Naomi Campbell’s most iconic outfits
Posted on May 25 2021
At age 51, Naomi Campbell remains at the top of the fashion game. Known for her iconic catwalk sashay, flawless beauty, and trailblazing career, it’s not hard to see why this supermodel is on first name terms with the world.
While fashion trends have come and gone, Naomi has remained one of the fashion world’s most in-demand muses for over three decades. Aside from being one of the models responsible for the term ‘supermodel’ being coined, she was also the first black model to grace the cover of British Vogue, Vogue Paris and Time magazine.
Naomi has stormed the runway for some of the world’s most coveted designers and boasts an impressive roster of advertising campaigns.
This week, she celebrated a new milestone in her life - the arrival of her first child. And to celebrate her transformation from supermodel to supermum, we take a look at Naomi’s most iconic fashion moments.

Few celebrity red carpet moments rival Naomi’s arrival at the MTV Music Video Awards in 1997. In a moment that went down in fashion history, Naomi literally turned heads (check out the guys in the background!) as she dazzled in a pink sparkly mini-dress by Versace. The appeal of Naomi’s frock has since endured over the years, with the likes of Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian sporting near-identical outfits decades later.
2019: Met Gala
Naomi has been attending the annual Met Gala since the ‘90s, serving up a string of stunning red carpet moments in her wake. In 2019, the glamazon proved she’s still the queen of the Met as she arrived at the annual event in a Grecian-inspired bodycon gown with lace stockings and a dramatic feather cape.
2010: Cannes Film Festival
No one does red carpet glamour like Naomi, and her 2010 Cannes Film Festival outfit proves exactly why. Stealing the spotlight yet again, the model simply oozed elegance in a custom-made gold paillette halter gown by Roberto Cavalli. She completed the look with a metallic clutch bag and gold bangle. All that glitters is gold!
1993: Vivienne Westwood backstage
For those fashion historians among us, you may recall Naomi’s unfortunate catwalk calamity in Vivienne Westwood’s autumn/winter 1993 show. Despite taking a tumble in a pair of giant lace-up shoes, Naomi proved herself a true professional by smiling through the fall. Months later, Naomi was snapped wearing the exact same heels while posing for a playful photo with Ms Westwood herself. The endearing moment has since gone down in fashion history.
1996: Fashion Group International's Night of Stars
Naomi can be considered one of Versace’s biggest muses, having starred in countless campaigns and catwalk shows for the Italian design house. In 1996, she famously posed alongside designer Donatella Versace in a semi-sheer, sequined frock that hugged her figure to perfection. Proving that more is always more, Naomi adored the ensemble with a stunning diamond choker necklace.
